The Great Launch: A Perfect Celebration to Four Years of Blogging

I have been passionate about design since forever. No, not just passionate, I want to make a living out of it someday.

Design Pique is an unofficial, unprofessional and passion-driven site for blog and web design. It is a haven for bloggers who need designs and designers alike, and if you spare a few moments to look around you will find that Design Pique is oriented to creating quick, efficient and unique designs for online portals from all over.

There is a lot I want to my life- I want to be an author side-by-side, I want to be a photographer, I want to make a little business out of my love for art. I want to pursue poetry, chase wanderlust, there’s so much and so little time. But design is something that takes me in and doesn’t let me out. Ask anyone who knows me well enough and they’ll tell you.

The first thing you need to know about me is that I have been a designer before I even knew it. In times of old, I loved formatting text. I liked experimenting with MS Word very much, using pre-set fonts and pre-set layouts, and it was years later that I discovered Canva. As a beginner in design, the website was wondrous to me, and I spent hours together putting my newly-found font collection to good use.

As time flew, I discovered how to download fonts, and went through various free font providing websites, picking up typefaces I found nice. Now, I have 300+ fonts (inclusive of the ones already in the system, ofΒ courseΒ πŸ™‚Β ) alphabetically sorted in separate folders for each letter. Well, naturally, I realized that Canva was not enough. I then began my journeyΒ with Photoshop, and my life has changed ever since.

So I realised- I have to get started somewhere. It’s out of practice that you can actually become something. And just like that, something that felt like an idea was born. Poof.

This is only a step in my dream of becoming a designer- I make no profits.

Introducing Design Pique Studios, an Idea that Changes Everything

Right from today,Β my 4-year blogiversary, I’m going to stop stocking up on graphics and fonts and mockups and palettes like I’m a bear preparing for hibernation and start USING them for something I care about.

I’m so excited about this, and I’d be eternally grateful if you spread the word! Even if you don’t need a design yourself, it’d be great if you would tell someone who does about it. πŸ™‚

Thank you SO much!

P.S: A new page for Cameras and Pens ChallengeΒ (CPC) has been put up! Work to be published shortly.
